Quest™ Turnout Gear

Commitment to Quality

Quest™ turnouts are hand-crafted in Quest's Walsenburg manufucturing facility. Quest's manufacturing process is thoroughly documented and quality checkpoints are instituted between manufacturing steps. Each employee is trained to Quest's quality system and maintains a high level of awareness on the quality of the product.

Commitment to Protection

Quest™ turnouts offer an unparalleled level of protection with its standard turnout gear configuration. Quest turnout gear has always exceeded NFPA specifications in the level of protection it offers.

Quest turnout gear is designed with extra protection in critical ares. The collar, the coat closure and the fly of the pant all offer a greater level of protection. Quest adds additional layers of moisture barrier and thermal barrier in the collar, coat and fly closures. Quest also places extra protection in high-wear/compression areas of turnout gear.

Elbow Patch image

The elbow of each coat has an extra patch of outer shell on it, with a layer of moisture barrier below. This protects against steam burns as firefighters crawl across super-heated floors in burning structures. The elbow patch also protects a fire department's investment in the turnout gear. The elbow is a high-wear area of the protective ensemble. If a hole wears in the sleeve of competitive turnout gear it can be patched. Unfortunately, there is always a hole in the turnout coat. With Quest turnout gear the repair is simply the replacement of the elbow patch. Once the patch with the hole is replaced, the turnout gear is as good as new.

The shoulders have extra layers of thermal barrier, moisture barrier and outer shell on them. This protects a firefighter against compression burns when an SCBA's strap compress the thermal barrier across the top of a firefighter's shoulders.

The coat closure has layers of thermal and moisture barrier inside, where many competitors have just two layers of outer shell. This extra protection will help protect a firefighter's 'core' in the event they are caught in a flashover event.

The knee of each pant also includes extra moisture and thermal barrier. This helps prevent steam burns while a firefighter is crawling around in a burning structure.

Quest's commitment to providing the best protection in firefighting is long-standing. Each of the above protective features has been part of the Quest standard turnout gear specification since Quest's inception. Our commitment to protecting firefighters is a core business value.

Commitment to Meeting Your Needs

Quest is committed to providing you with turnout gear that meets your needs. Every fire department has come up with its own, slightly different way of fighting fire. Often these differences are reflected in the design of the turnout gear.

Quest has designed turnout gear with intergrated accountability patches, retention systems for class II harnesses, a large variety of flashlight and tool holder options, and many more. We work with fire departments to create turnout gear that meets their work needs.
